Does anyone know why a female Auratus will take on the colors of the male after 5 months of breeding?

It's true. She is holding fry in her mouth again right now. She is as black as the male. I think she changed colors right after the third birth. I have gotten quite a few babies from her by now. She is definately the mother and is identicle to the father. She even has three egg spots.

Did some reading and yes, apparently it's not strange they do that but seems like the female is supposed to turn color and look like a male when there are no real males around.
