Has anyone made a canopy for a 10gal tank?
cause I haven't seen any hoods for 10gal tanks at lfs.
Also got lot of wood that my dad isn't using.
And a canopy that you can install light bulbs.

sorry not me,thats to much work for me for a small tank,I'd just buy a plastic hood or a glass top and be done.

But if you want to - one pretty easy way would be.
Make a 4 sided box (no top or bottom) just bigger then the tank.
so it slides over the tank. (the height would depend on the height of the light your useing)

add 4 stripes of 1/2" thick wood inside the box 1/2" or so (depending on the plasitc trim on the tank and if you want to hide it all) one on each side - this will hold the hood on the tank so it just doesn't slide down.

Then - figure out how you want the top to open - say you want half to open - fit a peice of wood to the top cut it in half, hinge it - add one more small peice of wood inside the box you started with to catch the lid and keep it from falling in .

paint it,stain it whatever thats it.
