Good call fisherman.
P - Red juwel. Market flooded.
B - Labidochromis caeruleus (yellow labs). I've had two batches of these now, from different mothers. The fist batch yielded six healthy fish out of nine fry. I haven't counted the second batch yet -- I've seen two, possibly three, but without taking the tank apart it's way too early to call. The first mum is starting to fill out again, so batch number three could be here by early spring.
A - Nimbochromis venustus (giraffe haps). I'm starting to worry that I have two males, rather than a pair, but they are still at least half a year away from spawning age so I don't know for sure. I'm on the look out for some more fry/young fish but the only ones I can find locally are mixed N. venustsus and N. livingstoni, and are therefore no good for responsible breeding.
A - Neolamprologus brichardi (fairy cichlid). I've got six, of varying ages, which should start breeding by next summer at the latest. Probably much sooner. These are really nasty fish for their size, which probably means they have a good chance of breeding in my big, bad malawi tank, despite the much larger fish in there with them. By rights, they should have been eaten by now, but even the tiniest of the six has survived.
A? - Pseudotroheus zebra. I have a breeding age female, and two males approahing breeding age, but I reckon they are all mutts. My second female should reach breeding age by next summer. I think I'm just going to leave them to it in the 180g malawi and hope that the Nimbochromis venustsus get fat on the fry.
A - kuhli loach. I inherited two of these from a friend and liked them so much I bought ten more! Nine remain after a month's quarantine. They new ones were only matchstick-sized when I bought them but they have fattenend up rapidly with a diet of fish sludge and hikari sinking pellets (loach and catfish)
A? - tiger barb. I've got a 20+ shoal of these viscious animals in a 30 gallon tank, many of which are of breeding age. I think my water is all wrong. An RO unit is on the cards, as are a few more 35 gallon tanks, so I might just have a go. Or, I might feed them, one by one, to the piranhas...
A - Baryancistrus sp. L177 (gold nugget pleco). Ok, I'm entering the realm of fantasy here; Panaqolus L204 (as soon as I get some more candidates); spotted bullnose pleco (Chaest..o..blah..di..blah, or something). I'll just see what happens as I grow them out...
