contacting webmaster

Postby soldier on Tue Mar 25, 2003 8:42 pm

When I receive an email that a post has been answered, I click on the link and it takes me to the post. When I try to respond from that link, I'm taken to a login box where I enter usename and password. It brings me to the post and I reply. When I hit submit reply, I get a message saying I must log in first.(even though I have and it reads welcome soldier) I'm then prompted to contact webmaster. When I click on webmaster I am taken to yahoo email.

Am I doing something incorrectly? Can you help with this?

Strange, I'd say try clearing all the cookies in your browser, I think if you want to erase only cichlidfish.com cookies you can do it from the usercp, ie user control panel.

ok, Also try going to user control panel, ie user cp button and "edit options" and set "Browse board with cookies" to yes if it is set to no.

Okay, It only works sometimes. I'll just come back to the post from the website from now on and not try to respond from my email by clicking onto the link.

Okay, the 2nd one of your replys to my post for sure. One other that I can remember from stillearnin.

You know, more than likely it's my computer, not your website. If no one else has had this problem than I'm certain it's just me.

You might want to update your browser too.
What browser are you using? (hopefully not Aol,compuserv or earthlink, all 3 of those are always having probs)
I had some trouble with my Internet explorer6 recently and I updated it with the most recent patch. If that dont work a lot of problems can be fixed by going to the control panel on your computer and in the unistall programs click on Internet explorer and then click unistall. This then prompts you with 3 options, click the one that says Repair internet explorer. This will repair any damaged files.
Another possible problem too could be that if your running a firewall you may have to configure it to allow. I got zone alarm Pro and it was a pain to configure when I installed it.

Thanks for your response. I do have zone alarm. I talked to a friend of mine and he said it's something in my computer. I'm having problems getting to your site now even when I go through cichlidfish.com. It's asking for a username and password every time. This will be the 4th time I have tried to reply to your response!! I can't even get into the forum properly now. He will come by and see whats up with my system. If I can't submit this message again I will send an email to webmaster@cichlidfish.com and wait for my friend to get here. Thank you for you help. Here goes...

My recommendation is, if you're running current uptodate anti-virus software just get rid of the Zone-Alarm firewall, not worth having it in my opinion.
