Sponge Filter Help

Postby DrOctagon on Thu Mar 06, 2003 9:49 pm

I just bought a sponge filter kit for my penguin powerhead and am not sure how to hook it up. In the illustrations it shows the filter hooked up to a UGF. Can it be used without a UGF? Do I use the reverse flow elbow they provide that is supposed to be attached to an uplift tube from a UGF, or should I keep the attachment on that agitates the surface of the water? Sorry if I didn't explain this very well but this is the best I could do.

Power heads can be used to draw water into an ugf. You will want to keep it set up as normal, just attach the sponge filter, and put it on the side of your tank. :)
