how big is the apple snail compared to the other fish? the fish i would worry the most would be the 2 cichlids of course. if they arent that big, i would dump it in and see what happens.

I've had SNAILS with O's.
And I was told by Everyone that they would do just fine. :p
Well for the first Couple of weeks they were fine.
They would just peck at the shells and leave 'em alone.
Until they finally figured out that when the HATCH door was OPEN the MEAT was out.
When they finally figured out after SEVERAL tries where the head was, They SUCKED the whole Snail out like Some one EATING a Blue Point Oyster, And all that was left was an EMPTY Shell.

And this was when they were ONLY about 2" and the Snails were the Size of a Quarter.
You can try it but don't be SURPRISED if you wake up one morning, And discover that Your FISH have enjoyed a Healthy Live Meal of Escargot.

But any who Good Luck....

Let me know how your Snails make out.:)
