My new tank has been running for a few days now, will live rock hurt anything if the tank is not cycled yet? Does anyone think it would be a problem to add it tomorrow? thanks

My thoughts would be

If the live rock is already cured (ask whoever your buying it from) you should be ok,some of the stuff on the rock might die off but not enough to hurt anything.

If the live rock isn't fully cured I wouldn't do it.

In case you wondering why it matters my basic thought is that live rock basically cycles (cures) and adding UNcured live rock to an established tank can throw the water parameters off,so adding it to a newly cycled or newly set up tank could cause higher spikes and fluctuations then normal and make getting the tank established even harder.

And if the tank isn't currently cycled yet, it shouldn't hurt anything. Your spikes will be higher because of die-off and the like that stilllearnin said, but in the end it'll probably speed up the cycle.

Look around online, there are a lot of great places to get live rock from. It puts that stuff you see in your lfs to shame.

Tampa Bay Saltwater, they have some awesome live rock and the prices are even reasonable. I think with shipping and everything it's something like $6 per pound, but I can't remember.
