Just curious what brand and wattage of heaters you use and for what size of tank.

Example,

1 Ebojag 200 watt for 55 gal.

Right now I have:
160 ? + acrylic 3 teir display with 2 - 250 watt titan.. won bros
(the display loses alot of heat since it has 3 open levels)
1- 120 gal. with 2 - visa therm 200 watt submersiables
1 - 90 gal. with 1 250 watt titan.. won bros
1 - 70 gal. now with a 250 watt titan.. won bros
6 - 55 gal. with 200 watt whisper submersibles
2 - 55 gal with whisper hang on 200 watt
2 - 55 gal with whisper hang on 150 watt
3 - 15 gal with ebo 75 watt submersiable
1 - 15 gal with a visa therm 100 watt submersiable
6 - 15 gal with pennplax - pc therm 100 or 150 watt hang ons
6 assortes size from 25-48 gal with pennplax 150-200 watt hang ons

I think thats everything thats currently running.

Heater size depends on room temps and such though,so other people might have large(er) heaters in small tanks,I have a heater in my basement so that cuts down on the size of heaters I need

The penn plax aren't great and are sort of junk, but at 20% of what some other heaters cost ,they work :) .

Some of whisper and ebo's are about 8-10 years old and still work great so I guess you get what you pay for

Stillearnin',

I need to purchase a couple for my 90 and 75 gal for backups. I've had 50% problem with my titaniums. From my research on this site, I guess the ebo's are one of the "most" reliable. If you had to buy all over, how would you heat a 90 and a 75 gal? What you you have for backup? I'm currently using a 500 watt titanium for both tanks. I was using the Rena Cal (expensive one of the Rena's) but I think I broke one and the other is so far off that I ain't gonna use it anymore, e.g., set thermostat at 76 and heats tank to 84, set thermostat at 74 and heats to 75...etc. Really weird.

I think it was your thread? but maybe not? I replyed to before ,anytime I try to use my titaniums in any kind of power strip or surge protector they don't work! set them at 72 they'll either stay off or go over 100 ! But plugged directly in the wall they work great!

If I had to buy new heaters that I wanted to last I'd go with either all whisper or ebos, its a toss up
Whispers seem easiest to set or turn up/down
Ebos have thicker glass and thicker power cords
Locally either one is $38-$40 for a 200 watt so it's a toss up
See why I took the cheap 200 watt pennpalx at $5 :)

If you decided to go with ebos Big ALs sells the 200 watts for $16.99
