Smell water

Postby surfdude660 on Wed Jan 29, 2003 4:24 pm

In 2 of my 10 gallon tanks there is overwhelming oder coming off the water. I do not overfeed the fish and clean the tanks well, The ammonia/ nitrite levels are 0 ppm, what could be the source of the smell?

Whats your nitrates read?
You may just need to clean the filter media.

the water is clear and i clean these tanks twice a month, with a scrub down and water change about every 1.5 to 2 weeks. there is algae in the tanks, but it is green algae, nothing bad, i think i will get a snail to help with that. Thes tanks have been setup for a while, 6 months at least, and are fully cycled without a doubt
