Hi guys just to let you know,a friend of mine had to give up his 6 inch Red Oscar and asked if I would like to take him on.What a stroke of luck,as you know I have a small young Oscar about 3-4" inch long,Would this be the chance for me to give my Oscar a friend, well I put him in with mine, and so far so good, the small Oscar seems to bow down to the larger one but not to the point of making sure he will not be bullied,as he has turned and made his presence felt. Hope all goes well will let you all know.

Hi Nigel,

Great, nice to hear you got a new oscar and they're both doing fine. Keep an eye on them for a while, I know that 5-6" or so my oscars went through a "mean" period. They woke me up all the time with splashing, and nope tank's not in my room but outside on the patio(my room's on the second floor).

Lucky dog! Well one of my tanks is about 5 feet from my bed and talk about scare the heck out of you at 3 in the morning cause your O was having a bad dream or something and decided to reak havock in the tank banging everything around and actually splashing water out of the tank. Now remember, I have a heavy duty thick glass lid on top of the tank which they still manage to get a gallon of water out of somehow?! They got me stumped. I think one of themm holds the lid while the other soaks me while I'm sleeping.

Joe, where do you live anyway? My fish would freeze outside here! PA get's pretty cold! I find that my fish get the most attention in the living room. I had one in the bedroom once and it just didn't get the attention it deserved. I ended up with lots of molly and platy babies though! LOL Image

Hhahaha, well Chuck, I did think of putting the tank next to my bed, but then I wanted to avoid those "wet-dreams" you mentioned Image
hope everyone's of age...o yea, guess what Chuck, you can BAN words on the BBS, letters will be replaced by *** i think...

I live in southern California. Summer is fine, but winter it does get cold at night, I do have 2 300W heaters in the 65gallon tank. Yea, I send Benjamin Franklin to good ol Edison every month Image
