hey....im re-setting up my 3 foot long 30g tank.....and i just odered 2 powerheads and waiting for them to come in.

since the tank is acrlylic(sp?).....there are 2 big holes on the top....
...now i have this plactic box about 8"x8"x8".......i wanna put some filter sheets in there w/ some carbon....i also plan to put about 2" of gravel on the top of it all....cus they do that at the fish stores w/ the big filters....mines small...and imma cut some holes on the bottom of the box and place it on top of the tank so the water can drip down to the aquarium water..... now to get the water up there..... imma use my powerhead and tubing to pump the water up there..... i wonder if the PH will be strong enough to pump water about 1-1.5 feet high........ i ordered an AC 2000 which does about 160gph....and a AC401...doing 270 gph......i wanna use the 2000 one....do you guys think itl pump the water UP?.... cus if it does.....theres my long term trickle filter =]

I did something simular but used a Resun P/H rated at 2000Litres per hour(550GPH)

welp i tried it.......and it works pretty well through 2feet tubing......

but the flow isnt as strong as it was w/out tube..... o well..... the tank is being cycled now w/ golfish and 2 misquitofish (from creek)....the filter will get myself a place for my bacteria to cultivate

btw....does anyone think a powerhead quickfilter would do good filtration?... cus i bought an AC402 (270 gph)....combined w/ my wisper power filter...(200 gph).....hope thats enough
