snails?

Postby aaroncain on Mon Mar 18, 2002 7:48 pm

I was wondering what would be a good type of snails to use to clean my tank since my plecos keep getting beat up by my cons?
Also what about sw snails? Turbo snails?

I am wanting some snails for fw an sw that dont breed like crazy so that i can keep them under control and keep the tanks clean.

snails?

I have gold Apple (Mystery) Snails and Ramshorn Snails. The Ramshorn's seem to breed more, but so far only a few actually hatch. The Gold Apple Snail is getting huge and is actually very entertaining. I don't have them in with my Oscars, though because I thought the O's might eat them.

Mommyfish: its ok, only admins n mods can delete them

i'd try a few apple snails. if course, im not sure that your convict would let them live. i had some luck with them with my oscar, maybe u'll have the same with your cons. they probably wont kill the snails\ if the cons arent breeding

dont use snails they multipy very quickly. instead try a Geophagus it is a S.A. cichlid that gets about the same size as cons. Geophagus means "earth eater" because geophagus sifts through the graval looking for food. i have a geophagus with with my con and he does great.
