yeh i have 3 yabbies,,, did have 4 until one escaped about 4-5 weeks back,, found it on the weekend - well atleast the dog did anyway, he found it pretty tasty too. They are great at climbing air tubes etc.
The yabbie in your other post is a different variety to mine i think, the variety i have is Cherax destructor - the last bit says it all,, damn things destroy everything, Rip up and eat all the plants, move the gravel and (small)rocks to where ever they want and kill any fish they can get a hold of.
I have a 2 tandanus one about 2 inches and another about 5-6 inches, they are pretty cool to watch, especialy when they go Digging. I also have 2 Salmon tail catfish about 8-9 inches long - i beleive they are Australian natives as well, gota watch those spikes though, got a nasty jab the other day when i was adding some more gravel to there tank, damn painful.
Do you know any good sites with Information about Australian native fish?? I cant seem to find any information on what PH, temp, etc these guys like, i have asked a few LFS and they all say the same thing about ANY fish "Keep the PH neutral". You must have quite a few tanks set up you seem to have a bit of everything,, how many do you actualy have setup?
Anyway Thanks for the reply.
