bleeding guppy

Postby aaroncain on Sun Feb 10, 2002 8:09 pm

I have just purchased 4 different guppies to breed to use as feeders. 1 of them died the first day and i noticed after the second or third day that one of them (female) had a bloody mouth and throat, and also had blood that was visible within the body along the spine. Any Idea what this is all about or what has caused this? Should i remove this fish?

Thanks in advance!
By the way I also failed to mention that this fish is still under warranty, and if it is going to be hard to get it better i can replace it for free and dont have to have it go on suffering.

bleeding guppy

hehhe nope not yet. I am going to wait until I get them bred and then make sure that they dont have any diseases with their offspring and then feed their offspring (after making sure that they are healthy) I currently dont have any oscars Image My jag died last week when the power went out and my oscar died several months ago. I am waiting to get a larger tank to put the o's in and then i am going to get a couple or three. It should be alright to use feeders that I have bred myself shouldnt it? If i just feed them sparringly as a treat?
I thought that I have read that before. Currently I just have convicts and guppies, and I am currently cycling my 30 gallon tank to start out with a saltwater tank. I am planning on feeding the baby guppies and cons to the saltwater fish and also to Oscars when I get them.

I just thought that I would see if anyone has ever seen or heard of anything like this happening.
