My Betta is doing better but this morning he has a gray spot about 1/8 inch in diameter to the top right of his mouth. All tank parameters are fine and he is eating and swimming around. The spot looks like a pale grayish color.

I am not firmiliar with Betta's or the diseases that are common to them but just from your brief discription it could be a fungal infection. You might want to give him a day or two and see if it goes away on its own but after that I would go and pick up some fungal medication and try it... dont let it go too long, fungus becomes very difficult to treat if it really takes hold.
