lo ppl,

just wondered what you favourate kind of clown fish is. mine is the maroon clown because it kinda looks like an oscar.

also, is it possible to keep a clown in a 33 gallon setup? I want fire mouthes, but if I could keep a clown that would be really cool!

I like all of them really. There are a lot out there. My favorite is a clown trigger Image Image ok ok real clowns.....I like the clarkii clowns but they are such BA's that they are hard to get a long with. I like the gold band maroon's real well also. I've kinda started to like the black percula's also. but my fav is probably just the basic clown.

Even though they are super common I love the classic occelaris clowns, they are hardy, personable and for the most part not totally grumpy about you cleaning the tank etc. Maroon clowns are terribly fussy and I dont know that I would recommend them to beginers, they arent as hardy as the other species of clown. Also it is more difficult to get them to pair off since the male is much much smaller then the female so if you want to try and keep two of them make sure one is about 3-4" or larger and the other is 1". Male maroons max out at about 1.5-2" while the females will get closer to 5-6" The larger clown is always the female, if there is a need the male can switch over and become a female so there is no need to try and sex them at the fish store.
