I have an air driven protein skimmer and i was wondering what it should look like when it is working. Should the collecting cup overflow out of the air hole in the top? Should the bubbles fill up the cup or stop right before the cup? I really dont know what it is doing or supposed to be doing. It isnt removing any colored water, I think that is because my tank is still finishing its cycle. How long should the skimmer be run?

But at this point it will probably stop right before flowing over....that should work and eventually when there is stuff to skim it will come over.
