are you saying that your 4.5" oscars have laid eggs etc and you have fry?? if so please do tell us more, I'd still have to say that must be one of those exceptions that proves the rule.

You have to understand that most of what we post up here as advice or information is very generalized... and generally speaking oscars have to be 1 year old and at least 9" before they successfully breed... I do know that oscars mature sexually at about 1 year of age... which means that if your fish are 4.5" and sexually mature they are grossly stunted in size... at 1 year of age they should be at least 8-10". What size tank do you have them in and how long have you owned them?

I was going to buy a couple of albino's today, they are about 4 inches but then as i was reading up on them i found out most are OCCASIONALLY fertile. If you have any pics of them spawning please show, especially at that size. thanks
