Hi Rico,

You mean how long it takes for an oscar to be able to breed? I think they are "capable" at about 6" but they usually breed at around 8-9" or so.

Newbie Question

Thanks Joe! I got 2 Tiger Oscars, one is about 5" and the other is about 3.5". The bigger one always attacks the smaller. Is it normal? Another thing, can I pair red o to tiger o? And how can i know if the o is male or female?

So many things to learn : )

Well, yes, that's normal. And yes you can breed red oscars with tiger oscars. Best way to sex is by venting, do some searching on this bbs, search for like "ovipositor", "genital papillae", "barrel", "oval shaped", "dark spots", etc...in-short, male(narrow tube), female(wider-barrel(oval)shaped) called the "ovipositor".
