CichlidFish.com - Fish That Think.

My emperor 280 is making an annoying humming noise. I seem to remember it being quite when I bought it 6 months ago.
I took it apart to seem if there is anything rattling around in it, but no. The impeller is a little dirty, but not in a way I imagine would make noise. Anyone else have this problem?

Moving to Tank Hardware.

I have 2 Emp filters,,,one is the 400, and I'm not sure about the other. It has the single bio wheel though. If this is the same filter, mine started "buzzing" some time ago. I found that the back 1/2 of the lid (the part behind the hinge, that covers the filter media compartment) was the problem. If I didnt push it all the way down it quit the noise making. Periodically, I lift it up, and just lay it back down without sealing it all the way. Not sure if this will help, but it stopped mine from buzzing!
