filteration for a 125

Postby OscarFish42680 on Tue Jul 17, 2001 7:40 am

I'm thinking about getting a 125 gal tank. It will be used for freshwater, and house oscars and mainly the cichlid family. What are some filteration setups I could use? Also, I've heard the eheim wet/dry setup would work well with the 125 alone...would that be enough?

This site has two fresh water setups in both a 135g and a 75g tank you might find helpful that utilizes a wet/dry setup...

For my 125g oscar tank (4 oscars and a pleco) I use 2 Emporer 400s and a 125 wet/dry bio filtr. Usual rule is 10x an hour water rotaion.

I also run 2 Emperor 400's and a 2 UGF w/powerheads. I don't consider the UGF an acctual filter, but I likke the set up for water movement and extra O2.

for HOB filters, i'd say 2 ac500 for mech. filtration, and a cheap diy wet.dry filter. or if you dont want a wet/dry, 2 emperor 400s (i think) and something else

I want to scream! how many times do we have to beg not to pull up old post. I already want to take a hammer to my new windows x/p but this is making the discision to do so easier. also if you are just reading old post to learn certain things please that is what the SEARCH link is for. It has helped me a lot. especially with the problems we've been having we don't need more aggravation. I am sorry for venting but this is out of hand not to mention waste of time. pretty please--stop
