I'm about to buy a new tank. Do you need any specific structural reinforcement for the floor under the tank? I live in an apartment right now, so I couldn't undertake something like that. However, I would like to get the largest tank possible, within a reasonable budjet... :-) What should I get?

You can get any size aquarium your budget and your land lord will allow. Most appartments only allow 10 or 20 gallon tanks without renters insurance. Once you have renters insurance you can have just about any size. Not sure what the renters insurance maximum is though. Most appartment complex's will have renters insurance available or you can go through someone else.

As to the structure of your appartment you will have to ask your land lord. I think you will be fine with a 55 or even 100 gallon tank. If you have carpet or wood floors, just use the normal tank stand for your size tank and you will be ok.

Yea what s42k said my tank weighs like 600 or more pounds and thats just the water never mind the rocks and gravel and tank and stand, so theres alot to tak in consideration.

I'll go and ask at the leasing office, but I think they'll have no idea. That's my only concern. That, and I think that, having no idea, they'll say "no" out of convenience...

Your leasing office will have a manual that has a set of rules. Ask them to look it up just as they would about rules with dogs. Most will say under 20lbs, or others will say as long as its not on the aggressive list. I am willing to bet its under 20 gallon tank. Otherwise you will need renters insurance for larger size tank.
