Just laid eggs but . . .

I have two 6" Albino Tiger Oscars, a 4" Red Devil and a 8" Pleco in a 75 gallon tank. My oscars recently breed but only laid about 50 eggs, a circle about the size of a quarter. From all the pictures on the web I've notice a lot more eggs than that. Should I take the Red Devil out? Any idea why they only laid so few eggs? Or is that common not to lay a lot of eggs the first time they breed. All the fish in the tank are very healthy and brightly colored. I feed them pellets and goldfish. Thanks

I would take the other fish out while they tend to their eggs. They would be happier alone and if you get some fry the red devil will surely munch them.

Is this the first time they laid eggs?

My oscars probably only laid 75-100 eggs the first time. The number increases with time. Not sure why......I guess because they get bigger?
Good luck!

Yep, just take out the other fish as Greg suggested....or move oscars to diff tank...and yea you're lucky if you got your oscars to breed at 6" ...for most people they start breeding at around 8" or so...
