Hi, I have two texas cichlids in one of my tanks and they recently have been locking lips and slapping tails, could this mean they are going to mate? They are only about 3 inches in size, is this possible? Oh yeah, the reason I am asking this is because I have a very aggressive 3" convict in with them and I was wondering if I had to buy a partion divider type thing to keep the convict from eating the fry and because whenever my texas' try to mouthlock the convict tries to break them apart? Could it be possible I got lucky and got a male and a female? Please answer as quickly as possible.

Sounds like its possible you have a pair

I also have two Texas cichlids. One is about the same size as yours and shares a tank with a Green Terror and Pleco. The other one is about 7" and has to be in a tank by himself because he is so mean and ill-tempered. I would remove the convict and keep a close eye on the two texas'.
