Salvins Cichlid only grows to 4 to 6" in size. Are rather aggressive fish.

You should get into Severums. They have a wonderful disposition and will get along with your Oscar. As long as your Oscar chooses to get along with the Severum. You may look into the golden or green variety.

Plecos pretty much get along with everyone.Unless you have a HUGE tank, your Oscar will get to be 14 to 16" in size alone. One Oscar and one Pleco is plenty for a 55 gallon tank. I choose 55g for example, as that usually tends to be the average tank size.

if u want to mix your oscars, dont get some agressive fish. the only kinds of cichlid that has the same temper as the oscar would be the 3 earth eaters (geophangus) and servums. oscars and the otehr fish mentioned are rather peaceful fish...compared to their family members.

Tony how much would shipping to Australia be from the US (WI)? It'd be more then happy to send you a bunch of plecos if you paid shipping. they are anywhere from 2-8$ here.

Thanks for the offer Image but Australia has some very strict import laws regarding live fish etc and then theres import duty, quaranteening processes,
So much red tape. Image
Probably why plecos are so expensive here onlong with other fish like a lot of cichlids.
Frontosas get up to the $200 mark.
I got a female red devil for my male RD and she was $30 for 4 inches. BTW. RDs BITE hard when they get out of the shy stage LOL.

Pity the plecos dont come in freeze dried packets (bit easier to sneak them in an envelope)
