Tony, I have my Red Devil with three African's. One is a pusedotrophlous salinas, White OB Zebra, and I can not remember the others name. But he is dark blue with yellow fins. I also have a pleco, and a black finned shark in a 55 gallon. They all with stand one another, not saying there is no nipping or chasing going on. Back home before I moved I had a Red Devil with a Frontosa, Texas Cichlid, Jewel Cichlid, Green Terror and a Crawfish in a 60 gallon. They all seemed to be doing ok until Red started his growth spurt. He terrorized everyone except the Front. So as you can see it really depends on the fish as to compatibilty. Also keep in mind that a Red Devil grows at a very fast pace when compared to other fish.
I too am thinking of finding my Red a mate. I would love to have a mating pair of Red's. I think they are beautiful and have a wonderful personality for a fish. I have not gotten around to looking for a female as of yet. My Red does the dance, and the whole gravel moving ordeal. I believe this to be their place to have fry. I think you will be fine adding a female Red. I would reccomend you keeping Red with African's, Peacocks, or try a JD and see. My friend had a 150 gallon tank with several JD's a mating pair of Red's, several Texas Cichlids and some other Cichlids. All doing just fine. The mating pair chases one another around the tank. Kinda a flirting type situation.
The key to Cichlids really is to have a large quantity. You have to disperse the aggressiveness from my experience.
As to what to keep with your Green Terror? Well in a 100 gallon, I would number one get a Frontosa (my fav), Texas, Jack Dempsey, another Green Terror, which are all readily available locally. However try online or ordering a Parapetenia dovii (Wolf Cichlid), Amphilophus trimaculatus, or a Amphilophus festae. All of which are truly exotic and beautiful. You will have to definitly keep an eye out on the last three listed as they get older they are nasty. I just like the exotic Cichlids. For peoples to come over and say "wow, what is that?"
I am currently trying to locate the golden phase Red Devil without luck. As well as make up my mind on what kind of Cichlid tank I want to build next.
