Red Devil

Today I was cleaning my Cichlid tank out, siphoning out the gravel, and my Red started to attack the siphon. I would drop some gravel over him from the siphon to play around and he didn't care. He would just go after the siphon. I took that out and placed my hand in there to rearrange some rocks, and he didn't go after my hand. In fact, he let me pet him >.=) Just thought I would share that with you all. Take care...

My oscar does the same thing. Sometimes when i'm dropping their food in the water, they don't want to wait so they jump up and grab it out of my hand! My boyfriend keeps joking about how aggressive they are and that he's going to start fishing in the tank because they'd be a good fight.

Yes my African Cichlids do not wait for the food to be in the tank. As soon as they see the lid opening, up and jumping they begin. My Red allows me to pet him durring this phase. Also one of my African Cichlids does the same. I will have find out the name of this particular one as I forgot it <.=(
