CichlidFish.com - Fish That Think.

I have no idea what kind it is. I got it at wal-mart on sale, their sign stated "medium assorted african cichlids $3" I tried finding out what kind it is using the Age of Aquariums website but he wasn't in there. I can try to describe him but I'm sure it won't help much: 2 distinct black circles, 1 in the middle of the body, the other is at the tail (just like oscars). he has a LOT of blue sparkly dots all over the body & fins. he has black bands running down the whole length of his body, which he can control the intensity of: sometimes he's dark as night, then at others he's grayish. when he is dark the blue dots show really well. I'd like to know what he is too, if u can find out from that info...

You wouldn't happen to have a scanner or digital camera would you? It's kinda tought to picture the fish you are talking about, sometimes Wal-mart(hummm, scary) gets fish that were over bread from a certain distributor and in an attempt to try and cash out, they sell bulk and cheap to stores like that, also if they can't identify a certain fish, due to odd coloration patterns or markings, they just label them as mixed cichlids and try to fins out what kinda price they can get for them at the store. Like I said, a pic if ya could, would help out alot...

oscar2001--could he possiably be a young jack dempsy? Mine thats about 1 inch long could be described as he did his unknown fish. Unless a pic is posted its impossiable to tell for sure though . . .
