I have an african cichlid (something aereus). He's good with the oscars, but slowly definning the pleco. Not to be mean, but any ideas on how long these little brats live? Thanks

Psuedotrophlous Aereus I think is the tech. name. Not sure how long they live but they only get to say 5.5" in length. I have a OB white Zebra, a Psuedotrophlous Salinas another Psuedotrophlous something ( dark blue with yellow fins)with a Red Devil and a Pleco. I noticed my plecos fins are frayed as well. This is something new that is going on in this one paticular tank of mine.

I feel like bringing him back to Petsmart (where my bro got him). The idiots sold him 4 of these to put into a 30 gallon tank. It makes me so mad that they know nothing about the fish they sell. I have no doubts that they would stick him in a tank of babies, that would become his next victims. They'll learn quickly.

I know what you mean about PetSmart, they are USELESS!
I brought my daughter in on her 5th birthday and asked what the best fish for a medium size fishbowl would be. Do you know what they told me??? RASBORA!!!!!!!
I had to find out the hard way that they were a tropical fish.
Thankfully we have the internet to educate us!
