NO dont' place them with the goldfish. Most ppl feed their american cichlids live foods and they might try to eat them..
they probly were fed pellets, most brands are fine.. I feed mine Hikari sinking now, but U should do floating IF U get any, as they are not eating and they are easily removed if not eaten.. Your food sticks should intice them to eat. it just wil take a few days, they wont' starve.. They are nice cichlids if that is what U have, but they do also need a big tank, 55gal and bigger..
do U have a pic of them? or are U sure they are Texas cichlids?? They should have speckels all over them if they are and green mostly..
