escondido turning black

Postby alexcb on Wed Jun 10, 2009 9:34 am

me again. sorry for asking a lot of questions. i put my 2 escondidos about 2.5'' in a 15gal tank w/divider. after more than a week one of them which i thought was a male develop black coloration under its mouth to the stomach. the black coloration sometimes disappear and comes back again. half of its body grew dark too especially the bars. i heard its a sign of being about to lay eggs. but when i removed the divider, the one with big stomach and black cloration attacked the other one. i didnt see them liplocking and the one keep on running away looking very scared. what do you think is happening here? is this sign of breeding? what should i do? i hope you find more patience and answer me again. by the way, i put back the divider to avoid the fish. to be hurt

tmbsup THANKS A LOT GUYS tmbsup

I HOPE TO SEE YOUR REPLY SOON!!! :tard:

Breeding rituals can sometimes look a little rough but you did good to put divider back if the struggle is much too one-sided and one of them takes too much of a beating. I usually kept a watch on my fish and separated if I noticed any damage from bites to sides, fins etc...
