African Cichilds living with community fish

Postby escaped convict on Sun Mar 25, 2001 1:11 am

Hello Group, I had a question about African cichlid compatibilty in a commnunity tank. I have a 55 gallon, it has 5 clown loaches, 3 yoyo botia, 3 rainbowfish, 2 sae, 2 otocinlus.

I just add 2 johanni cichlids, a male and a female & 1 female kennyi to this tank. It's been 5 days and everything is okay.

My question is this, will the tank stay this way, or will the cichlids beat the other fish up?

BTW, The loaches are big, twice the size as the cichilds.

Thank you!

You should be fine. I have kept Cichlids with community fish before. The thing is, community fish are non-territorial so you should be ok. Also keep in mind you should keep them at the same size. However there is never a guarentee on fish compatibilty. Good luck.

thats true as long as your commun/fish stay either lager or about the same theyll be fine.atleast your loaches have the best chane but i would recomend that anything eles you add better be considering juvies.
i will say this if you dont add some more fish its less for the afr to chose some.
