3D latex aquarium backgrounds

Postby tintin on Wed Mar 28, 2001 9:09 pm

I have just bought a latex aquarium background for my new tank. It looks a little like this: http://www.petluvers.com/media/Th_a1750.jpg

I have to use silicone glue to glue it to the back of the tank. I have heard some bad things about these, namely that they can trap bad/old water behind them and that may breed bad bacteria which can kill my fish, any suggestions, insights about this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Glue it to the outside back part of your tank. Give it a good bead seal around the edges and you will be fine.

I havent seen these before and so I'm not entirely sure how they work but you might try allowing the water to circulate behind it, this way there is no way for it to trap water.
