MY OCSCAR SWALLOWED ONE OF THE PLASTIC PLANTS THAT I HAVE IN THE TANK!  HE PRACTICALLY SWALLOWED THE WHOLE THING ONLY A LITTLE PIECE IS STICKING OUT.  HE SHAKES TRYING TO GET IT OUT.  HOW DO I REMOVE IT?? PLEASE HELP!!

Ok! the piece of plant went in backwards meaning, for me to pull out the plant i was going against the grain. I tried to make this a pleasent time for the fish. So what I did was took some long nose needle plyers and held on while he jerked and the plant finally came out. But now he either seems not to be able to close his mouth or he just doesnt want to. I hope I didnt hurt him. Will he live????

well mine swallowed a rock the size of a large strawberry, he freaked out for a while and then spit it out. . .he is fine now but ya it seems like they just wrecklessly swallow items in the tank. . . i thought that meant only other smaller FISH. . . not everything in the tank!! Crazy!! and mine does play with his ping pong balls in his tank.

Kep a close eye on him.  He may have dislocated his jaw.

he seems to be doing just fine. He is now eating normal. dont know what got into him. He seems to be more attached to me now since I saved his life.
