With Bret Farve breaking passing records this year, I've become a temporary Packer's fan because we may be watching history. If Green Bay can make a run and win the Super Bowl this year, I think Favre can make a legit claim to being the best NFL quarterback ever. Elway's got the leadership, Montana has the championships, Marino had the records. With Favre, finally there will be a QB with all three!

For a record to be a true record things should be even.

Marino beat out the other Greats like Elway and Montana on a level field.

Mario didn't break NFL interception records while setting records though Farve has that record to himself 

How many single season records does Farve have? Not many , he's just played for  7 years more then Marino .
Figure in the longer seasons and he's got close to double the time on the field of Marino and is just now "breaking his records".
Better QB? The numbers say differently.

What Farve hasn't done -
He hasn't passed for as many yards in a season as Marino.
He hasn't throw as many touchdowns in a season as Marino.
He hasn't ended a season with as high of a rateing as Marino.
He hasn't (and can't) end his carrer with as high of a rateing as Marino did.

What else Farve has done
Been sacked about 170 more times them Marino
Fumbled almost 100 times more then Marino
Lost fumbles almost 50 more times then Marino

Brady's at  4,450 this year 

Farve gets credit for breaking Marinos career passing yards record (laughable), do the math figure out how much less yardage he has thrown for per game.
If you look though Marino still owns or shares more records then Farve

So Farves completed 200 more yards of passing then Marino in basically 8 extra years LMAO why do people think he's so great?
Marinos 5 game strike season was 1,200 yards! If he'd of gotten the other 10 games that'd leave Farve,what? 7 years more time and 3,000 yards behind

Your not alone lots of people seem to have hitched a ride on the Farve wagon , but I look at Tom Brady to be remembered as a better QB at the end of his career.

Compare this year and Brady has Blown Farve away.


I think the guy just bugs me , a few years ago people wanted him kicked out of football for his pain killer addiction now suddenly he's some hero that by luck and time not skill beats out Marino so he's everyones new buddy.

Will more then likely be as good if not better for at least the next two years.

Made/set the record (this season) as the first qb to throw 3 or more td passes  for six straight games to start the season.
He is tied with Staubach for the most wins in first 100 starts at 76

Set the new record for TD's thrown in a season.
Set the new record for TD's thrown to a single reciever in a season.

and lead his team to the first perfect regular season in 35 years 


He's still getting my vote for best active quarterback
