Morning all.

Im bored at work, so i got to wondering.

What do you all do as work.

Anyone who remembers "the dark days" will recall i was training to be a computer programmer.

Well i did it, and now i program AV control systems on mega yachts... no lie lol.

Not as glamorous as it sounds, but i get to travel about a fair bit.

Heres my first trip away, about 1 year and a half ago. Lets say i've aged a little since then lol that was in Copenhagen.


So, seeing as ive started, anyone else want to share their work woes?

I never get bored at work  I'm the manager of the Gift Shop/Restaurant at a Greyhound Bus Station. There isn't anywhere in the world as interesting as a Greyhound Bus Terminal!! Talk about different kinds of people

I'm a reformed singer/voice teacher.  Still do a little bit, but Real Life now involves running Production & IT departments for a medical publishing company, plus studying and teaching T'ai Chi.  Have also just become the Editor of Modern Aquarium -- the newsletter of Greater Cities Aquarium Society here in NY.  Havne't had to do any work at that yet -- starts with the new year.

Lol, reformed singer, could have used that in my gigging days.

My non fish time , I'm technically a machinist.

Pretty much spend the early part of the week or day depending on the job pushing buttons and crunching numbers. The rest of the time I sit bored while the machines work.

Make stuff from the super dull and boreing like diodes , fuse block parts (the copper inside a house fuse box) ,wind generator bearings,polaris  (snow mobile)  cams to some cooler stuff like  bearings for Jeff Gordans car (not a nascar fan though) , parts for prototype cars (gears,pins,intakes,cams), small parts for the space shuttle and other aerospace projects. Along with alot of stuff I have no idea what it is  like replacement parts for specialized factory machines,dyes,molds etc...

I stay HOME.. not as boring as it sounds.. 12 tanks running some need cleaning more often.. MOD on a few sites plus keep an eye on mine.. HOUSE work.. Yea, I do squeeze some in.. 4 lap dogs. Two larger chihuahuas, mom and son, an two female manchesters?? that I got talked into taking ONE day from death at the pound.. I got them free so no problems. Such smart girls too!! 200+ fish to see about all day long.. Mostly fry.. Cook, and the normal other I am "surposed to do" during the day..  Notice I stated "Surposed to do".. LOL... Barb

I work during the week as an aquatic technician. Just means I go in and check the fish stocked are healthy, if not find out why not. fix any filters, do any water changes or tank cleanouts, bring in new stock, feed them all, treat any diseases, and just general maintenance. Occasionally it gets more interesting when there's things that need fixing such as the air supply or termites eat the roof or tanks break, but that's about it.

Plus I work as a bar attendant and make many many people very very happy every weekend. But then they get too happy and I kick them out.

Then I also walk my dog an hour or so a day, play a bit of tennis and being only 20 I go out a lot with friends.

Life story! I hope my days have touched your souls and changed your life!!! (all jokes!!)

well here in nz (new zealand) we have a family beekeeping business, which essentially pollinates pastures, crops and fruit orchards (mainly kiwifruit). we operate around 800 hives and our lives consist of shifting hives from pollination sites, to honey sites, to wintering sites, making sure hives are healthy and disease free, requeening, and feeding sugar syrup over winter when needed. the main target for our business are kiwifruit pollination and medicinal manuka honey, which at the moment gets exported to the states where it is put into bandages and wound dressings, and is sent off to the soldiers in Iraq.

so basically i am a super hero (without my undies on the outside) and i save the world from super bugs and starvation.

I have a medal for you Tony!!!

Ahh, makes me hungry for some milk and honey
