hey fokls, greatings from cold cool Iceland!  I'm bearly new to the m. ramezi and want to be sure how the ideal tank set up sould be.

I use to have pair of ram in 2.5gal tank and they survived 6 months or atleast until I had huge ick and other problems. now I got I think it's 20 or 30 gal tank (75l) and want to have the ideal set up for the pair I'm lookin at and also some tetras.

the major question is, gravel or sand? I prefer sand cose I can get it free at the summer resort, I have some java moss and that is about it. some guys have told me to get coconuts but I'm not sure about that.

I can get some floor tiles and was hopin to use some of my inmagination and juvell silicon  tmbsup

how ever I need some more experiance guidens to it. that is. what I sould use at the bottom, what plants other than java moss and most of all what other fish I can have in with them. reason I use to have only lifebreaters, goldies and brickardies
if I get some good Ideas I migth send in some pics

I'm not going to be much help in the plants area. They are fairly gentle with plants so I would think that anything that you can get to grow in your lighting should be fine.

The reason for the coconuts I'm not sure :dontknow:

In my experience with Rams they prefer to spawn just down out of eye level. If you place a small pot in your tank sitting upright  most likely they'll choose that to spawn in. There are several different aspects to success when breeding these guys but as for spawning location I've always used an upright pot. If they can duck into a small pit they seem to like it. My advice is to place atleast one small pot in the tank if you plan on breeding.

Good luck tmbsup
