Dragon fish

Postby amy5335 on Sat Aug 18, 2007 1:53 pm

I bought a dragon fish, or dragon goby about a month ago. He hid in a cave all day long and never came out.

Recently he started venturing out. He comes out of his hole like every 10 mins.

He does weird things. When he comes out, he hits his head off of the glass or rocks. Then he will freak out, and go crazy. He wiggles around and just goes nuts, kind of like hes having a seizure. Then he just stops, and swims back into his cave. He comes out like 10 mins later and does it all over again.

My fiance bought him right after he was shipped. He didn't even make it into the store. He took one look at him and bought him. I think maybe he suffered brain damage or something.

Anyone have any experience w/ these fish? I read some comments people posted online and they didn't mention anything like that ever happening.

They don't seem to like light very much.  I kept one for a short time.  Found him hard to feed.  Very shy, and hard to get food to in a community tank.

I don't think that's it. He comes out and lays in the light. I think I just have a handicapped fish.  :icon_geek:
