Fish Discolored

Postby gothnmadtown on Tue May 22, 2007 12:39 pm

Just today I noticed that my gold fish is discolored from his head back to his tail. His head is the normal yellow color but the rest of his body has changed to a brownish/orange color. I put a pic on my pro but here are 2 links so you can see the pics better. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/c ... C00001.jpg and http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/c ... C00002.jpg

Hard to tell a whole lot from the pic.  Some basic stuff you can start with -- check the water parameters, especially ammonia and nitrite.  Both should read zero.  Do a 50% water change (add dechlorinator if you're on municipal water).  Add some salt -- a teaspoon per gallon to start with.  Won't hurt, might help.  Let us know how the water tests.
