IF they are eating them then good, this shoudl not harm them.. YOU need to vac the gravel to remove them and uneaten food/waste from the gravel.. I would not med the tank with the fry, they might not do good with it.. A good tank cleaning should take care of it.. CLEAN THE FILTER TOO..

those little ity bity white worms (or can take the color of the food ...  bloodworms will turn them pinkish)?  They come out when it is overdue for a water change.  They can live in the gravel, and will attach to food that is expelled or uneaten ...  can climb the glass and attach.  I have seen them in the LFS before, and in a friend's tank ...  they are scavengers.  Now, I don't know about parasitic ones.  Look at it as free food for the babies, but good thing you are doing a gravel vac ...  I get nervous cleaning gravel with fry, the molly fry seem to blend in so well and don't want to accidentally suck them up.  Make sure you clean the filter in tank or treated water!!!  (just a reminder)

I thought you were talking about the worms at first!!!  I was going to say they didn't seem like they would be trouble, except for clinging to things.  The vac will get a lot of those worms, and keeping the water clean takes away their food source and they will die out from starvation, basically move back into the gravel where there will always be some trace of nutrition for them ...  from what I know, once they have been introduced, it is nigh impossible to completely eliminate them.  I also know someone who tore a tank down and it dried out for a month, when they got into fish again, didn't have another worm.  They said they never had them until they bought feeders from that same LFS I said I saw the worms at.  Not harmful, no worries, but it can look bad to those who don't know.

fillabong14,

I have no problem with the baby mollies now they are a bit bigger, but when they are first born I am nervous about it.  They are sooo tiny, and I didn't know how strong/quick they are.  Good to know they are speedy little things even on day one.  I know the momma gets real lazy for a couple days, understandingly so.  I will not worry about it next time ...  the current babies are getting big now 1/4-1/2" ...  but there are two pregnant ones, so another week or so and I will have another batch.  It is amazing how often they can breed and how many per molly as well.  I would say last time 3 mollies gave me about 10 each, two at the same time, the other a couple days later.  It is hard to count that many, they do get around.  As far as catching them at work ...  I am sure you get people that want a particular one ...  that must be even more fun.  I know I like to pick out particular fish for a certain color feature it has ...  before the ones I have started having babies, I was checking out some dalmatian mollies.  Saw a pregnant lyre tail I almost bought.  I like the silver ones too.  I might do it anyway since I will have to give away or give to the O so many all the time.  Right now there are yellow ones and orange ones with black spots.  I would like more variety.  If I ever set up a EBJD tank I wish they would breed like that!!!  I could make a career out of it!!!
