I moved this to a different board as it has taken off to a different subject.. YOU can repost the PICS back into the gallery if you wish... ON the meds, MelaFix and PrimaFix is the one med that needs to be USED Last, but I was concerned for the eye that has collaped on using a med that is to strong.. that would be like pouring salt on an open wound.. SO YES get the PrimaFix and IF he is NOT to big, you can do this in the 10 gal with NO deco, just a filter, heater, NO gravel...
I am wondering about thou, if the 55 gal water is OK to use in this tank.. IF it is cycling, then we have a problem on using the water for the 10 gal.. PLEASE check for ammonia/nitrite readings and you may have to do some water changes on the 55 gal before you can use any in the 10 gal.. Using water from the 55 helps keeps the severum from ajusting over to a NEW water.. Less stress on him..
What other size tank did you move them from?? seems the severums are bigger now and I don't see them in a 10 gal tank.. ON the 55 gal, did you cycle it for a few weeks OR add in anything to help boost the cycling?? That alone wil cause the cloudy water.. YES a filter with a bio-wheel is a great accest to a NEW tank.. ON a 55gal you need TWO filters, one on each side.. I Run Emperor filters as they are the best filters for great filteration.. Emperor 400 are a double bio-wheeled filter and they really have a great flow to them for 55 gal tank.. YOU need two on a 55 gal..
Best to get them ON LINE as you can get TWO for the price of ONE at a LFS.. I wil get you a link to a good place.. they are always on sale ON LINE...
YOU can run the other smaller filter from your OLD tank on this tank with the bio-wheels.. DID YOU KEEP THE WHEELS from drying out?? I keep mine in a zip-lock bag with a little tank water added in so they dont' dry out if I dont' use them in a few days time.. ONCE they dry out, this kills off the GOOD bacteria.. Stil thou, yoiu can revive them in a tank it just takes longer to reestablish the good bacteria on the wheel.. A new one would be better as it is seeded already..
I am wondering if your 55 gal is not cycling.. HOW long has it been running?? Are you monitoring Ammonia/nitrite??.
How long have the eyes on the severum been like this?? Were they like this when you got them??
NO I would not take them to work.. YOU can do this in ONE day on watching them for signs of stress IF you use the stronger meds.. IT is the first 15 min of adding them in that you might have to do some water changes fast..
Although MelaFix and PrimaFix is a bacterial/Fungus med, it also takes care of cloudy eye, which some say is a parasite.. UNsure but I have used this and it works.. REMEMBER thou, that it wil take LONGER for you to see any results as he has has this for along time.. MORE on how long WHEN you see about the water in the 55 and set up the 10 gal..
