I use Eheim cannister filters, and have been satisfied with them.  There are of course other good candidates -- Fluval and Magnum are two that come to mind.  I'm pretty sure it's possible to get a bio-wheel add-on for most of the major filters out there now.  I have several power filters with that feature, but I don't think it's a crucial addition.  Others might disagree.

Definitely don't get a magnum! They are a pain. If money isn't an issue get an Eheim, If on a budget !st choice is the XP series by rena, And are just as good as eheim in my studies and personal experience.  Fluvals are ok.  As far as biowheels, they work but not necessary, and over rated IMO.
