New Names for Oscars

Postby Mark Stone on Sun Oct 15, 2006 11:10 am

My baby Oscars, previously named Peanut Butter and Jelly, have new names. Why? I have grandchildren that have strong opinions. Their new names, as determined by the dominant granddaughter (6 years old) are "Britney" and "Britney Spears". I think theese poor Oscars will have psychological problems as they age, but, if any of you are blessed with grandchildren, you know who the bosses are! tmbsup

1.  Nah, better not say it!  :icon_biggrin:

2.  More original than the names for my 2:  Oscar and OJ  (Oscar Jr).  :icon_salut:

Ya,
My original 6 oscars were Munchy, Crunchy, T-bone, Pork Chop and Tracey. The 6th got beat up by the others too fast to get his own name. That earned the rest of them the nickname Bastards. heh. Anyhow. Tracey was my daughters name for the one I couldn't think of. It was the next to go. I think the other ones were making fun of it's name. Anyhow, Tracey and the unnamed one didn't make it. Munchy and Crunchy live with my Ex-Husband and T-bone and pork chop reside in my 55 hanging out with Sampson the tiny Midas.
Oscar stories. How fun!

I used to name Oscars after my teenage daughter's boyfriends, but found out that she didn't appreciate it -- Also, I didn't have that many Oscars!  ;D

I tried to call my oscars kick & punch....but my girlfriend moaned at me and said i can't. Don't know why????

We had to settle on Chongo & Chonga, other options that got shot down were Congolord and Congoqueen.

Gotta keep the whole african thing up down here.

Other than oscars all other breeds I have had and named have died!! Any other breed of fish I have had I don't bother naming, it just seems to be bad luck for some reason. Odd
