Hi I got 2 new fish today. The man I adopted them from said they are head standers ?!? I cant find any info on them. He said they are American Cichlid.

Any help would be great.

Hi, Angel, and welcome to the forum!  There are quite a few headstanders out there, and I can't think of any that are cichlids.  Here's a link to one type of headstander, to give you an idea of what they tend to look like.  If you look up "headstander" on Fishbase, it'll give you several more selections to check out.

Dah do I feel stupid. I was googling 2 words head - stander. Now together as one word I see alot of info. Thanks a bunch for the help.

30 gal        communityish tank- 2 small angels, 2 gouramis and a couple misc fish
40 gal        4 Assorted South Africans (My Newest setup)
10 gal        Set up for the convict fry

If you haven't found out yet thats a Leporinus.

Not 100% sure from the pics but likely Leporinus fasciatus
