I've heard of it, but never tried it. What I've heard is mixed -- some ppl say the Oscars play with the ping pong balls, others report that they are largely ignored. No harm in trying it, though --

I tried it when I first got my O's. They tried to eat it (ping pong ball) a couple of times, but once they decided it wouldn't fit in their mouths, they ignored it.

One thing sure to be moved is plastic plants.  Not sure if you'd call that a toy.  :icon_biggrin:

yes i tried it. she only batted it around during water changes to tell me she was not impressed with my disturbing her. my other oscars LOVE the bubble bar (longer is better). they ride up it like a slide then go back down for another go. give it a try! good luck.

I threw a golf ball into my tank last night after reading this article and my fish started pushing it around all over the place....seems to keep him a bit more entertained than the plastic plants did.

I guess some oscars are more playful than others.

Try the stream of bubbles, every oscar I have had has really enjoyed it. They either sit in it(must feel good) or they will ride the current up over and over.
