please help my baby convict survive!

I found a small (1'4 inch) baby convict living in my whisper filter behind the cartridge, there are no other survivors in the tank..How do I help him survive, like temp, food, conditions, help this little guy please..email me if ya want princess@wctc.net

Well that's one lucky fish to be alive first of all! The first thing you need to do is take him out of the filter. Just joking. I am pretty sure that has been done. If he can swim around with the other fish w/o being harrassed or killed I think you should have no problem keeping him alive. Water temp should be around 78 degrees and you can give him crushed pellets or even cichlid flakes until he gets big enough to eat full sized pelets. Make sure you have good filtration(one that doesn't suck up your fish would be nice) and keep the ph around 6.8 - 7.2 or so(neutral always works) other than that just watch him. After living in a filter for so long he should have no problem living a "normal" life. He has beaten the odds.
