Hi Eric, have read you've got an O.  Great characters, I'm sure you will enjoy the years to come.  As for Dken, you say you're in to reptiles, are you in to computer games as well ?  I ask cos there's a link there (obscure but there is one)

Hello from the UK. Had a tank given to us and all the bits and put some fish in it, one of which was a 2" oscar who straight away made a bid for the small plecostamus and killed it, so within 2 weeks of keeping fish we now have 1 tank of pretty fish and 1 tank containing 3 oscars, all at about 2" long. Already they are hospitable and follow us up and down the tank and most of the time look like synchronised swimmers minus the nose clip and plastic grin.

We have followed all the guidelines on breaking in the tank and borrowed plants and rock etc from the established tank to help the bac' grow in the new one, water conditioner etc and they seem really happy. Local pets shop tests water for free so we're up there at least once a week taking advantage of their generosity !!

This site/forum has been a great help in understanding these brutes and already the boys have been really entertaining for us and the 3 kids ( 4yrs, 5yrs and 8yrs) except when one was giving the plec a 'big kiss'.

I know we'll have some stupid questions sooner or later so sorry in advance and thanks for being here......
