I aquired the larger oscar from my neighbor.



Its a lil darker than my oscar,but his tank He left was quiet smaller(33 gallon)& he's a larger oscar to boot.I'm unsure of big boys age but mine was 2 years in july.I won't say he's agressive  But He has made a meal out of quiet a few tank mates.His albino buddy(I swear...albino seen his size& stopped growing& before he died had lots of holes in his body& didn't utilize his brain very well at times) had some convicts at one time...started with 5.lost a red tipped shark, a few goldfish,ate a bass fish...a 2.7 lbs meal....GULP  was quiet the entertainment that nite too.He's ate a crawfish...but 1 remains.got a catfish remaining...minis part of his mouth...well most of the front of it anyway.  They  minnows! worms ,crickets....

Can anyone guess the sex?They seem to get along pretty well.Home is a 75 gallon tank.I plan to rearrange a lil bit.Big boy uses more room.I'm sure he is really loveing the additional room he has now.

Ok so you are talking about Oscars in this whole post yet the picture is of Pacu's so whats going on here?

Well actually walmart had the tank marked as mollys.we bought an orange white albino with it.But neighbor seen our fish and said was an oscar like his.I got 3 of his fish. so its a pacu........

Yes, pacu ... and they can grow over 3 feet long.  Unless you can get a really big tank you're going to have a very big problem soon (if not now, looking at the size of them).

A number of people who have been mis-sold these fish have ended up giving them away to public aquaria (or paying the aquarium to take them) but aquariums these days have been inundated with unwanted fish and there are very few that will still take fish.

Have attached a photo of my juve Oscar, that's the shape your looking for and they too can grow up to 16 inches in the proper tank environment.  Hope you manage to get something sorted.
