I don't know for sure myself -- I'm thinking that it could be an internal disease causing internal organs to swell (what is commonly referred to as "Dropsy"), or even perhaps a growing tumor. Does he seem to be acting abnormally, like he's in pain? If you have a vet nearby that will treat large aquarium fish (they're rare but do exist) it might be a good idea to take him in. --Mark:cool:

may simply be constipation. my guys get this once in a while. however it always goes away in a day or two. try a feeder or something with moisture. might loosen him up.

The best thing for constipation are cooked peas 2 to 3 should do the trick! but this looks like there's more then constipation going on. i had a Oscar that had a similar gut bloat and died within a couples of hours... I performed an autopsy and sure enough it was a tumor...But i'm not a vet and can't tell for sure that is what your Oscar has. I would try feeding him or her a few peas and see if it gets better! Otherwise seeking help from a vet is the best thing to do!

Good luck and hope all goes well!!!
