tank split then?

Postby Craig on Mon Feb 06, 2006 9:20 am

how do everyone, long time no see.

been busy at uni and stuff, so i just thought id keep you all abreast with whats going on in hull.

my severums are growing nicely, about 6 - 7 " now
the pleco is getting bigger and more aggressive as the days go by, just over a foot now.

the other day, after some tank maintainence, the 55G sprung a leak from the bottom seal.

after much fun and games i transfered the 3 agro fish into 2 seperate containers with filters and heaters running... all is well, and the tank is now patched up.

however, the severums (after refusing to spawn in the main tank, but putting on all the displays) have laid a clutch of eggs in their tempory home.

their about to return to their tank later today, any idea what i should do with the eggs? will they survive the move back ot the main tank?

cheers

tank split then?

What did they lay the eggs on? If it's a piece of slate or some thing like that I don't see why not. except that Your pair may not have been comfortable in the 55 gal. You might want to figure out what's up with that first. I've never bred severums so this advice is just IMO only.

how do

Postby Craig on Mon Feb 06, 2006 5:44 pm

sorry for the rushed post there guys, lectures where about to start (oo get me! lectures lol)

yeah, long story short, the severums laid on their flower pot.

they had been in the tub a matter of hours before they started laying.

i moved them back to the 55G, however the stress must have got to them and they ate the eggs.

its actually a good thing, hate the idea of dozens of unsaleale fry on my hands.

just for the information, the fish are all too comfortale in the main tank, lol, spoilt rotten on tetra doromin, bloody expensive stuff.

they refuse to spawn in the main tank due to the pleco, hes large and very aggressive.

all works out well eh?

how is the old gang anyways? everyone well?
cheers Craig
